Dr Chan graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1992. He is an accredited specialist in Occupational Medicine with the Singapore Medical Council, and on the Family Medicine register with the Singapore Medical Council/College of Family Physicians. He has interest in Diving Medicine, health of compressed air workers, travel, promoting the health of employees, athletes, para-athletes and the elderly. He previously worked in the Singapore Armed Forces (especially in the Republic of Singapore Navy and Preventive Medicine), Singapore General Hospital and National University of Singapore (as Deputy Director and lead for Occupational Health in the Office of Safety, Health & Environment) before joining The Occupational and Diving Medicine Centre. He is Occupational Health physician for various institutions and continues to be active in teaching; and research as Co-Principal Investigator. He has received awards including the Society of Occupational Medicine Gold Medal, Asian Association of Occupational Health Young Investigator Award, United Nations Transitional Administration for East Timor Peacekeeping Medal and National Day Commendation Medal in the Nation’s fight against SARS and Public Service Administration. He also serves as a volunteer to programmes including the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital Mobile Clinic for foreign workers and Singapore Armed Forces.

Dr Lai graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1992. She spent the first part of her career with different restructured hospitals gaining experience in Emergency Medicine, Orthopaedics, Cardiology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, General Surgery and Internal Medicine. She has a keen interest in caring for the elderly, management of skin and work-related conditions; taking further training in those areas. She is on the Family Medicine Register in the Singapore Medical Council and a Designated Workplace Doctor with the Ministry of Manpower. Dr Lai believes in serving and giving back to the society – she actively serves as a volunteer within the community.
